Treatments for Multiple Sclerosis

There are a variety of treatments that MS patients can have access to. These treatments are to help stop the progression of the disease, but not cure it. There is no cure for multiple sclerosis at the moment.


Medications (For MS Attacks):

- Steroids: reduce the nerve inflammation

- Plasma exchange (transfusions): the plasma in the blood is removed and separated from the blood cells, then mixed with a protein solution and put back into the body


Medications (For MS Progression):

- Injection medications

- Oral medications

- Infusion treatments


Therapies:

- Physical Therapy

- Occupational Therapy


Self-Care:

- Rest

- Exercise

- Balanced Diet

- Reduce stress
